Net Zero Emission by 2050

Daily human activities require the usage of energy from as simple as preparing meals to as complicated as flying an airplane. The increasing amount of greenhouse gases that we emit must be regulated in order to achieve #NetZero.

‘Net zero emissions’ refers to achieving an overall balance between greenhouse gas emissions produced and greenhouse gas emissions are taken out of the atmosphere.

In support of this vision, countries signed up for the Paris agreement and pledged to put Net Zero carbon emissions a reality. In response to this, humans have to cut out carbon emissions and take emissions out of the air. The latter sounds more difficult to do. We can contribute to the removal of carbon emissions by planting more trees because they do this process naturally. Other than that, we have turned to renewable energy as our way to cut out carbon emissions.

Innovative solutions are in place to do the task of removing carbon emissions from the atmosphere but the development is still at an early stage and it needs further testing and studying. Hence, we cannot fully rely on them at the moment.
Governments of the countries that signed up for the Paris agreement are coming up with their own policies in order to achieve Net Zero by 2050. Ultimately, the responsibility for achieving it falls on every citizen on this planet. No one is exempted and everybody must participate in order for this goal to be achieved. We must change the way we are living. The change starts with you and me.
